The European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons has released a number of videoed discussions that took place at their annual meeting in Barcelona in October 2012.
Most of these related to very specific cardiac and thoracic surgical issues. Some however like this one relate to general issues such the growing importance of demonstrating quality and effectiveness in surgery.
In this clip, Sir Bruce Keogh, medical director of the NHS and a cardiac surgeon, talks about these topics. He spoke eloquently during a session on quality during the meeting itself.
