The different parts of the Affordable Care Act in the US are falling into place. This recent video issued by the Federal Government describes the changes that will take place in Electronic Medical records.
In the UK, where a National Service exists, one would have thought that this kind of thing already exists. IT in primary care is quite well developed but health IT in secondary care in the National Health Service in England. has always been so hit and miss. As a healthcare worker and as a consumer/patient, it is not clear to me whether progress in IT and the EHR (Electronic Health record) is part of the Health and Social Care Bill.
Although a video like this interests me and those who beleive in a National Healthcare service, I suspect it freaks out those (in the US) who already think that government does and knows too much.
