RISK SCORE SYSTEMS FOR PREDICTING DEATH AFTER HEART SURGERY ARE POPULATION DEPENDANT.
Validation of four different risk stratification models in patients undergoing heart valve surgery in a single center in China
This is yet another paper showing the problems associated with comparing risk stratified outcomes in different populations. Mortality after cardiac surgical operations is very dependant on patient population and so it is not surprising that risk scoring systems are population dependant.
