Do We Really Need Doctors?

This recent page in a google blog makes me wonder why Clinical Decision Making Tools are not routinely used in medicine today. The incredible analytic ability of Google and other smart search engines such as Wolfram Alpha should make assessment of clinical, laboratory and imaging findings as easy as using an online dictionary or Wikipedia for research. It is likely that use of these resources will become an accepted way of making diagnoses in place such as the Emergency Room.
